When Did We Start Accepting That Our Leaders Are Just Professional Liars?

Hi friends! I'm actually getting this post up early today! I got a surge of anger-fueled energy and used it for good.

I am biting my tongue really hard today. I'm tired and mad. I'm now the fact checker and information source for so many of my friends and family, and I take this new role seriously. But wading through all the daily crap our government is doing to us continues to shock me. It's one story after the next, and I keep catching myself thinking, this can't be true, and then I look into it more, and it is. Over and over again.

Today's news had me wanting to just write this post with a single sentence. MAGA is a bunch of f*ckers. And my husband actually encouraged me to do it. But I'm now a person of so many words, so it's not in the cards for today. There might come a day when that is all you will see.

It's just idiocracy nonstop from the Trump administration and their MAGA cult followers. I'm losing my patience with them. I try to remember that they are brainwashed, but I really want to say, how dumb can you be?

The news that made me shake my head was that the FBI and DOJ now claim the Epstein client list never existed. Not sealed. Not hidden. Just poof, gone. This is after Trump's own AG, Pam Bondi, claimed it was "on her desk." So were they lying then, or are they lying now? And honestly, does it even matter anymore? Because we've reached a point where we expect our government to lie to us, and that should terrify every single one of us. As for who is on the list and who isn't and what really happened to Jeffrey Epstein, we already know. The women who were trafficked have told us. That is good enough for me. And honestly, did we ever think we would actually see this list? I for sure didn't.

But here's what should make your blood boil: we're not just being lied to. We're being systematically destroyed. And they're laughing while they do it.

This isn't politics as usual. This is gaslighting as policy. This is what authoritarianism looks like when it wears a red hat and calls itself patriotic. This is fascism with a flag pin and a fake smile.

Let me be brutally clear: Trump and his administration don't slip up. They don't "misspeak." They lie. Constantly. About everything. They lie about tariffs while your grocery bills climb. They lie about pandemics while your neighbors die. They lie about wars while we worry our kids will be sent to fight them. They lie about voter fraud while rigging the system. They lie about abortion while women bleed out in parking lots. They lie about the weather while our houses flood. They lie about who they are while showing you exactly what they plan to do to you.

And no matter how often they get caught, they just repeat it, but louder. Because they know something we're still learning: the truth doesn't matter when you control the narrative.

Take Stephen Miller, this walking nightmare who talks like he was assembled from spare fascist parts. He owns stock in Palantir, the surveillance company. Trump's government just signed a giant contract with Palantir to build ImmigrationOS, a mass surveillance and deportation system that would make East Germany jealous. So let's spell it out: Miller helps design the most oppressive immigration policies in modern history, buys into the surveillance company, and now gets rich off your data and fear. That's not security. That's a racket. That's corruption so obvious it would make a mob boss blush.

But it gets worse. So much worse.

Today, on the six-month anniversary of the LA wildfires, when families are still rebuilding, still grieving, still trying to piece their lives back together, heavily armed federal agents and National Guard troops swept through MacArthur Park. This is a peaceful space where immigrant families gather, where children play, where the community holds on despite everything trying to tear it apart. No explanation. No arrests. Just fear. Pure, calculated terror.

Mayor Karen Bass stood there in real time, horrified, watching her city being terrorized by our own government. This isn't about immigration enforcement. This is about reminding brown and Black communities who holds the guns. This is about showing every parent in that park that their children aren't safe. This is about breaking spirits before they break bodies.

And while families cowered in fear, Trump was somewhere else, probably golfing, celebrating the 25% tariff he just dropped on Japan and South Korea. Here's what that means for you: every car you buy, every piece of technology you need, every electronic device your kids use for school, it's all going to cost more. A lot more. This isn't about punishing foreign governments. It's a backdoor tax on us. On our families. On our future.

MAGA taxes everything in your home and calls it "America First." The only thing first is the lie. The only thing first is the greed. MAGA wants us to be poor. Poor people are easier to control. They don't have time or the luxury of protesting if they are hungry for their next meal. They want the wealth concentrated at the top, with the poor having just enough to survive. And by poor, I mean all of us who are not billionaires.

Meanwhile, RFK Jr., this brain-worm-addled conspiracy theorist who Trump put in charge of our health, removed COVID vaccines from the CDC's guidelines for kids and pregnant women. Yes, that guy, and can we stop for a second and once again acknowledge that they can appoint the most ridiculous and unqualified people to control everything, and we just are like, whelp, hope I don't d*e. Because he swims in sewage, doesn't believe in sunblock, is creating a registry for Autistic people, loves unpasteurized milk, and is controlling everything health-related. These are really F'ed up times.

He fired every scientist on the CDC's vaccine advisory committee. Every. Single. One. These were people who dedicated their lives to keeping children alive, and he threw them out like garbage because science doesn't fit his narrative. He operates on whatever he thinks makes him special and popular among the uneducated. Anything real and proven is not on his agenda.

Now he's being sued by every major medical group in the country. The American Academy of Pediatrics. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The American Medical Association. These aren't political organizations. These are doctors who took an oath to "first, do no harm." And they're watching RFK Jr. (who is not a medical proffessional and has no training in the area) do exactly that, harm to millions of children.

This isn't about "parental rights." This is about dismantling decades of public health infrastructure in the name of political theater and disinformation. This is about letting children die to own the libs.

Here's what makes me want to scream: MAGA calls California a failed state. A hellscape. A warning of what liberal policies will do to America. But Matt Gaetz works and vacations here. OANN is headquartered in San Diego. They rail against California from their beachfront condos, sipping wine made from grapes grown by the very immigrants they want to deport.

If they actually believed their own propaganda, they'd leave. But they won't, because the truth is, they love it here. They just need you to hate it. They need you to believe that diversity is dangerous, that progress is poisonous, that caring about other people is weakness.

And that brings me to the most terrifying part of all this: there was a time when being a Nazi meant shame. You'd hide it. You'd whisper it in dark corners. You'd lie and say you would've hidden Anne Frank, would've stood up to Hitler, would've been one of the good ones.

But now? MAGA proudly admits they wouldn't. They cheer fascists. They idolize authoritarians. They openly attack immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, and Jewish Americans. They march with tiki torches and call it patriotism. They storm the Capitol and call it tourism. They separate children from their parents and call it law and order.

The cruelty isn't a side effect, it's the brand. The suffering isn't collateral damage, it's the point. They want you to hurt. They want you to be afraid. They want you to give up.

But here's the thing, and this is why I'm not giving up, why I'm still here, why I'm still fighting, today also brought us a rare win. A federal judge blocked Trump's attempt to defund Planned Parenthood. He called it his "Big, Beautiful Defunding." What it actually was: a calculated attack on basic reproductive care that would have devastated millions of women.

Cancer screenings that catch tumors early. STI tests that prevent disease. Birth control that lets women plan their families. Prenatal care that keeps mothers and babies alive. All of it was on the chopping block. All of it was going to be destroyed in the name of political theater.

But today? The courts said not so fast. A needed reminder that this isn't over unless we give up. A reminder that every phone call matters, every vote counts, every act of resistance adds up.

Because here's what MAGA doesn't understand: if caring about other people makes us liberal snowflakes, then so be it. I'll take that over whatever the hell MAGA has become. I'll take compassion over cruelty every single day.

MAGA isn't a movement. It's a bunch of loud, cruel people who want power more than they want freedom. They want control more than they want democracy. They want to hurt people more than they want to help them.

We used to have standards. We used to expect our leaders to at least pretend to care about truth. We used to believe that public service meant serving the public, not serving yourself. Now we're supposed to just accept that they lie, they profit, they terrorize, and they call it patriotism.

I'm not accepting it. And neither should you.

Because this is our country. This is our democracy. This is our future. And we're not going to let them destroy it without a fight.

They think we're weak. They think we're distracted. They think we'll just roll over and let them turn America into their personal piggy bank and private prison.

They're wrong.

This isn't about getting the files, I'm afraid those are long gone. It's about letting our lawmakers know that we are watching and we are not going away.
