Every post Heather has written for the last 8 days (as long as I've been reading) has hit like a sledgehammer. An educated, historically-relevant, articulate, and passionate sledgehammer. I'm in awe of what Heather does, but I'm worried that it's a drop in a small lake in a very large ocean. Substack is very good at what it does, but in my experience, it's relatively unknown in the real world. I'm worried that although Heather is extraordinary at explaining what's going on in the Trump administration and what it REALLY means, her words are being seen by a very small audience. The last time I looked, Heather had less than 10K subscribers. She was read by MILLIONS when she was writing her travel blog, "It's a Lovely Life". I'd like to hear how you think Heather can expand and leverage what she's doing here. I view what she's doing as critically important to the future of the country, but I'm worried that her hammer is much too small.

I think there is a select group who choose to read in-depth each day the depravity of this man and his followers. My family and friends (small sample) avoid any straight talk about what is happening to our country. Heather brings it straight. I love it but it is not for the denialists, which is sadly most of our country.

"They’ve forgotten that by the time you realize you’re in too deep, it’s already too late." Heather, is it too late?

Heather, you are spot on and it worries me as well that there are so many that continue to support him. It’s extremely frustrating but I do think the number of his backers are decreasing just not enough of them yet and not fast enough. Our country needs him and his administration out of office as soon as possible.

The truth is, that there will always be those, who faced with an existential moral decision, scream ‘Do it to Julia!’. Referencing Orwell’s classic 1984. This will include close family and friends. Fully comprehending this harsh fact can serve either to demoralise or focus those who fear the rise of auhtoritarianism more than they fear their own deaths. Recognising that in an authoritarian regime like MAGA/Trump’s your eventual death is all but assured. At historical crisis points like this one choosing to fight rather than obey will break families and communities in two. Civil war is the most tragic of conflicts.

Every hammer counts when building a house, the more hammers (in skilled hands) the faster the construction. I paid for a subscription to Heather because she nails it every time, but more importantly provides her content with No Paywall. That is HUGE for me. Why restack a paywalled article? I love and consume every article and restack them.

Trumpty Dumpty: The story of a loser #5

Trumpty Dumpty sat on a bench…(all the birds and squirrels stayed away from the stench)

Trumpty Dumpty’s ass-cheeks wouldn’t clench…(boy, did they ever need to)

And all the billionaire backers and all Trumpty Dumpty’s communications staff…(having no idea how badly they smelled)

Couldn’t put Trumpty Dumpty’s out-of-control speeches back in his a** where they belonged…(‘cause, who can depend on Depends at a time like this)
